About
huuep is danny upside down.
This is the second version of this blog about my life in Silicon Valley. The first version began in 2005 during the Web 2.0 boom, right after I joined Ojos, Inc, which became the photo search site riya.com, and morphed again into the visual shopping site like.com.
I have been in Silicon Valley since 1998. I got my Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford. Prior to that I was in the East Coast and studied chemistry and physics at Harvard. I was born in Singapore and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where my parents still live.

Random trivia about me:
- One time, in high school summer camp (aka nerd camp), I memorized pi to 500 digits. Who knew that it came in handy years later.
- I used to pick locks and made the master key for my freshman door (Canaday).
- I make good almond jello. Scroll down to see the photo in the link. Incidentally, if you search for “almond jello” on google images, my photo used to show up first. Now it’s in the top 5 or so.
